THONET treasure

Sind das die Münchner Stuhl-Wochen? Ich kann es mir einfach nicht erklären, schwelge stattdessen einfach in meinem Glück und hinterfrage es nicht. Denn nachdem ich vor ein paar Wochen diesen Stuhl gefunden hatte, war ich nun vor ein paar Tagen in der Mittagspause auf dem Weg zum Briefkasten und da stand diese weiße Schönheit einfach so auf der Straße! Mutterseelenallein, kein Mensch weit und breit zu sehen. Zuerst dachte ich, könnte ich den Stuhl ja als Büro-Balkon-Sitz erkoren. Aber noch bevor ich dort ankam, genügte ein leichter Druck gegen die Sitzfläche: sie löste sich vom Stuhl und hervor kam der THONET-Stempel! Sofort schoss mir „oh mein Gott!“ heraus. Ich war sprachlos! Schon immer habe ich davon geträumt, einen echten Thonet zu besitzen! Natürlich kommt er nun doch nicht auf unseren Büro-Balkon sondern nach einer Schönheitskur in meine eigenen vier Wände. Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass die Stuhl-Findungs-Glücksträhne damit fürs weitere erstmal beendet ist. Es sei denn, ich baue an. 🙂

Are these the Munich chair weeks? I just don’t understand it but am rather wallowing in the feeling of pure luck without questioning it. After I had found this chair a few weeks ago I was on my way to the mail box during lunch break a few days ago and there this white beauty was just standing all alone on the street! There wasn’t a soul in sight. First I thought I could take the chair as a seat for our office balcony. But just before arriving there a little push towards the seat was enough: it went adrift and out came the THONET mark! Immediatly I was like „oh my gosh!“, I was speechless. Always I have dreamt of owning a real Thonet! The chair is not meant for our office balcony now, of course. It rather resides in my home (after a bit of a redo treatment). We can only hope that the stroke of chair luck has come to an end for now. Unless I extend my flat. 🙂
